Ovechkin powers fantasy left wings again

Unlike the centers, left wing is the thinnest position in fantasy hockey this season. While the elite left wingers are undoubtedly dominate players, the position clearly weakens after its top ten. It would probably be a good idea to snag one of the top tier players early on in the draft and then hope to grab a sleeper later on, as there are plenty of question marks at the bottom of the list.

Alex Ovechkin, the No. 1 overall fantasy player, leads the way again, with New Jersey winger Zach Parise coming in at No. 2. Dany Heatley, who's eligible at both wing positions, sits at No. 3, while Parise's teammate Ilya Kovalchuk checks in at No. 4. Michael Cammalleri, the 10th-ranked left wing, is a fantasy machine, but the position weakens very quickly after that. We anticipate bounce-back seasons from players like Scott Hartnell, David Booth and Brenden Morrow, and also hope that Taylor Hall, the first pick of the 2010 Entry Draft, emerges as a solid fantasy winger for years to come. Be careful with this position; if you fail to grab a top player, you could end up with a weak No. 1 left wing.
