DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed forward Darren Helm to a two-year contract.

Terms were not disclosed Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Helm was Detroit's fifth-round pick, taken 132nd overall, in 2005. In his first full NHL season last year, he had 11 goals and 13 assists in 75 games.

Quote of the Day

I spent a long summer thinking about that playoff series and what could have been. [The Blackhawks] ended up being the Stanley Cup champions, so we know we lost to a very good team. It's tough to know how close we were, and it motivates us for this year.
