Jon Sim will remain a part of the New York Islanders' organization, as he signed a one-year deal with the club Tuesday morning.
Sim, 32, appeared in 77 games for the Isles last season. He had 13 goals, 9 assists and 44 penalty minutes. The Nova Scotia native became an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Unlike his previous contract with the Islanders -- a three-year deal that paid him $1 million annually -- Sim signed a two-way contract this time around.
In 435 NHL games, Sim has 74 goals and 61 assists. He's also 87-75-162 in 164 AHL contests. Sim was taken in the third round (No. 70) by the Dallas Stars in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
