Canadiens add four to scouting staff
The Montreal Canadiens bulked up their scouting department with four new hires.
The Montreal Canadiens bulked up their scouting department with four new hires Tuesday.

Ryan Jankowski, who spent had been assistant general manager and director of amateur scouting for the New York Islanders since 2006, was hired as an amateur scout. During his tenure with the Islanders, he was responsible for drafting a number of key players, including John Tavares and Josh Bailey.

Also added to the staff is Christer Rockstrom, who will serve as a European scout. Rockstrom had spent the last 21 years with the New York Rangers, including the last five as the club's director of player personnel for Europe. Previously, he scouting Europe for the Detroit Red Wings; one of his biggest discoveries was Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom.

Also hired were former Canadiens forward Serge Boisvert as an amateur scout; and Vaughn Karpan as a professional scout.
