Cody Bass, who played in 33 NHL games for the Ottawa Senators over the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, signed a one-year, two-way contract with the team Thursday.

The 23-year-old center spent last season in the AHL with Binghamton, where he finished with 5 goals, 11 points and 109 penalty minutes in 57 games.

Bass made his debut with the Senators in 07-08, putting up 2 goals, 4 points and 19 penalty minutes in 21 games. He added a goal in four postseason games. He was scoreless in 12 NHL games the following season, amassing 15 penalty minutes.

Bass was a fourth-round pick by Ottawa in the 2005 Entry Draft.

We're certainly happy we got the win, but we feel we have a long way to go obviously. We're going take another step in San Jose and it is going to be a tough one.

— Los Angeles Kings forward Justin Williams said after his team's Game 4 win vs. the San Jose Sharks
