Blues sign recently acquired Hensick
St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Friday that the club has signed recently acquired forward T.J. Hensick to a one-year contract. No financial terms were disclosed.

Hensick, 24, played in seven games for Colorado last season, recording a goal and a pair of assists.  He also played in 58 games last season for Lake Erie of the AHL, scoring 20 goals and adding 50 assists for 70 points. Hunwick played in 61 games for the Avalanche in 2008-09 and had 21 points (4 goals, 17 assists).

The Blues acquired the 5-10, 190-pound native of Howell, Mich., from Colorado in exchange for Julian Talbot on June 17, 2010. He was originally drafted by Colorado in the third round (No. 88) in the 2005 Entry Draft.

Quote of the Day

He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
