The Anaheim Ducks have jumped into the free-agent market with the signing of veteran defenseman Tony Lydman to a reported three year, $9 million deal. Lydman, 32, played with the Buffalo Sabres for the past five season. Last season he scored 4 goals and 16 assists in 67 games and was a plus-10.
He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
