Coyotes re-sign LW Wolski
Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced that the Coyotes re-signed left wing Wojtek Wolski Monday to a two-year contract.

"We are very excited to sign Wojtek to a new contract," said Maloney. "He is a talented offensive player who performed extremely well for us last season down the stretch and led our team in goals during the playoffs.  He will be a key contributor for the Coyotes going forward as he enters the prime of his career."

Wolski, 24, established new career-highs last season in goals (23), assists (42), points (65), games played (80) and plus/minus (21) while splitting the year between Colorado and Phoenix.  After recording 17-30-47 in 62 games with the Avalanche, Wolski was traded to the Coyotes in exchange for forwards Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter on March 3, 2010. Wolski appeared in the final 18 games of the regular season for the Coyotes and collected 6-12-18 to finish the season with a team-leading 65 points. He also played in all seven postseason games for the Coyotes and registered 4-1-5 to lead the team in playoff goals.

In 2008-09, Wolski tallied 14-28-42 in 78 games for Colorado. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Wolski finished the 2007-08 campaign third on the Avalanche in assists (30), fourth in points (48) and fifth in goals (18). During his rookie season in 2006-07, he registered 22-28-50 and along with Paul Stastny became only the third rookie duo since 1993-94 to reach 50 points. Wolski ranked among the League’s top rookies in goals (5th, 22), assists (5th, 28), power-play goals (5th, 7), power-play assists (5th, 10), power play points (5th, 17), shots (6th, 165) and shooting percentage (8th, 13.3 percent). He also participated in the NHL’s 2007 YoungStars Game in Dallas, collecting 2 assists.

In 320 career NHL games with Colorado and the Coyotes, the native of Zabrze, Poland has registered 79-132-211 and 87 PIM. Additionally, Wolski has collected 7-7-14 in 22 career playoff games. Wolski was originally drafted by Colorado in the first round, No. 21, of the 2004 Entry Draft.
