Oilers acquire Fraser from Blackhawks
Edmonton Oilers acquire Colin Fraser from Chicago Blackhawks.
Just hours after dealing Dustin Byfuglien and Brent Sopel continued, Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman continued to reshape his roster on Thursday morning.

Aiming to create more salary-cap space, the Blackhawks traded the rights to restricted free agent Colin Fraser to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the NHL Entry Draft, which begins Friday night in Los Angeles.

Fraser, 25, appeared in 70 games for Chicago last season and had 7 goals, 12 assists and 44 penalty minutes. He was also held scoreless in three postseason contests. A former third-round selection by the Philadelphia Flyers (2003), Fraser (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) has 13 goals and 23 assists in 157 NHL games.

The Oilers own the first pick in the draft for the first time in franchise history. They will likely use it on either Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin.
