The National Hockey League and American menswear designer John Varvatos have teamed up for the 2010 NHL Awards Wednesday at the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.
Varvatos is expected to dress NHL Awards host Jay Mohr and nominees Drew Doughty, Mike Green, Jimmy Howard, Ryan Kesler, Ryan Miller and Brad Richards for the televised event (7:30 p.m. ET on VERSUS in the U.S. and at 8:30 p.m. on CBC in Canada). The John Varvatos brand also will have a presence at the post-event cocktail reception, where all Award nominees, performers and presenters, including the host, will receive a selection of John Varvatos fragrances.
Mohr and the players will debut their John Varvatos' ensembles during red carpet arrivals at 3 p.m. PT outside the main entrance of the Palms Hotel.
Launched in 2000 with a collection of tailored clothing and sportswear, Varvatos now represents an entire men's lifestyle that includes footwear, bags, belts, eyewear, limited edition watches, men's and women's luxury skincare and fragrances, as well as the younger, edgier John Varvatos USA Collection and Converse by John Varvatos. The designer has been recognized three times by the CFDA with an American Fashion Award for New Menswear Designer (June 2000) and Menswear Designer of the Year (June 2001 and June 2005) and was honored as GQ's "Designer of the Year" in 2007. The collection is distributed in freestanding John Varvatos boutiques across the U.S. and on johnvarvatos.com, as well as in better specialty stores throughout the world.
