Reports: Phaneuf to captain Leafs
According to TSN, Dion Phaneuf is expected to be named the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs at a Monday afternoon press conference.

The Leafs have not had a captain since Mats Sundin left after the 2007-08 season. Last season, Tomas Kaberle, Mike Komisarek and Francois Beauchemin and Phaneuf were alternate captains.

Phaneuf, 25, was acquired from the Calgary Flames in one of the 2009-10 season's biggest trades on Jan. 31. Phaneuf, winger Fredrik Sjostrom and prospect Keith Aulie went to the Leafs in exchange for Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman and Ian White.

Phaneuf played a total of 81 games last season between the Leafs and Flames, scoring 12 goals and 20 assists.
Quote of the Day

You know what? We've played in some pretty special buildings along this playoff run so far. You start in Detroit, you go to Montreal, you come here … I think it's the first team to beat three Original Six teams to get to the Final if I'm not mistaken. That says how tough the road has been. Those are tough places to win.
