Rangers sign forward Dane Byers to extension
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced Tuesday the club has agreed to terms with forward Dane Byers on a contract extension.

Byers, 24, skated in five games with the Rangers last season, recording 1 goal and 31 penalty minutes. He notched his first career NHL goal in his season debut on Oct. 30 at Minnesota. Byers spent most of the season with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, recording 25 goals and 27 assists for 52 points along with 100 penalty minutes in 74 games.

The Rangers selected Byers in the second round (No. 48) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
Quote of the Day

I was going nuts and I saw [Subban], he was going crazy, and the ref had no idea where to go. [Subban] was skating to me, and I was skating to him and the ref was right in between us and I don't know, I kind of hit him pretty hard, I thought, but those were some emotions and I'm pretty sure he understands that.
