Key facts, figures from Game 5 of the Final

The Chicago Blackhawks are on the verge of ending their 49-year Stanley Cup drought after a wild 7-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 5 of the Final.

Here are a few of the pertinent numbers from Sunday night's game:

0 -- Goals in the Final by Blackhawks' captain Jonathan Toews. He and checking center John Madden are the only Chicago forwards who've played in every game in the series but haven't scored a goal. Toews did have an assist, only his second point of the series.

2 -- Occasions in the Final that the Flyers have changed goaltenders. Coach Peter Laviolette lifted Leighton after he allowed five goals in Game 1, then did it again after Chicago scored three times in the first period of Game 5. Leighton's replacement, Brian Boucher, wound up taking the loss in both games.

2 -- Power-play goals by the Blackhawks in Game 5, one more than they managed in Games 1 through 4. Chicago got a power-play goal by Brent Seabrook in the first period and another by Byfuglien in the second. The Hawks were 2-for-4 with the extra man after going 1-for-9 in the first four games.

3 -- Losses by the Flyers in the six Game 5s they've played in the Stanley Cup Final. They won in 1975, 1980 and 1987 and had lost in 1974 and 1985 before Sunday's night's defeat.

4 -- Points in Game 5 by Chicago's Dustin Byfuglien, who got his first two goals of the series and added a pair of assists. Byfuglien entered the Final with a team-high total of 8 goals, including three game-winners in the Western Conference Finals.

5 -- Minus rating for Philadelphia defenseman Chris Pronger. He was on ice for the Hawks' first four goals -- one on the power play and three at even strength -- as well as Patrick Sharp's insurance goal late in the third period and Byfuglien's empty-netter. Pronger was also in the penalty box for Byfuglien's power-play goal in the second period.

5 -- Losses by Philadelphia in as many games this spring when trailing after two periods. The Flyers are 0-2 in this series when trailing after 40 minutes

5 -- Consecutive games in which the Flyers have been credited with more hits than the Blackhawks. The margin in Game 5 was 45-35, bringing the series total to 197-169.

6 -- Wins by the Blackhawks in as many games in which they've led after the first period. Sunday's game marked only the sixth time in 21 games this spring -- and the first time this series -- that the Hawks took a lead into the dressing room at the first intermission.

9 -- Hits credited to Byfuglien, the most by any player on either team. Arron Asham led the Flyers with seven.

9 -- Consecutive wins by the Flyers in Games 4-5-6-7 of this year's playoffs before losing Game 5 to Chicago. The Flyers won Games 4-5 against New Jersey, the last four games against Boston, Games 4-5 in the Eastern Conference Final with Montreal and Game 4 of the Final with the Blackhawks.

10  -- Times in this year's playoffs that the Blackhawks have scored first, including Brent Seabrook's goal 12:16 into Game 5 on Sunday. Chicago improved to 9-1 in those games, including 2-0 in the Final.

10 -- Years since a team scored as many as seven goals in a Stanley Cup Final game. The last team to score seven was the New Jersey Devils, who did it against Dallas in Game 1 of the 2000 Final, which they went on to win in six games.

11 -- Victories by the home team in the 12 Stanley Cup Final games played during the past two years. Chicago and Philadelphia have won all five home games this year; Detroit and Pittsburgh each won their three home games last year before the Penguins won the Cup with a road win in Game 7.

15 -- Victories by Chicago in this year's playoffs, the most by the Hawks in one playoff season.

21 -- Times that the Stanley Cup has been tied 2-2 through four games. Of the first 20, the team that won Game 5 went on to win the Cup 14 times; however, three of the six losses by Game 5 winners have come since 2001.

25 -- Players who've now scored at least one goal in this year's Final. Two Flyers (Kimmo Timonen and James van Riemsdyk) and two Blackhawks (Seabrook and Byfuglien) joined the list of scorers on Sunday night.

The five-game total is more than the combined total of any Final, of any length, since the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks scored 40 times in the Rangers' seven-game victory in 1994.
