The Ottawa Senators announced Wednesday they have re-signed goaltender Mike Brodeur to a one-year, two-way contract.
The Ottawa Senators announced Wednesday they have re-signed goaltender Mike Brodeur to a one-year, two-way contract.

Brodeur, 27, spent most of the 2009-10 season with the Binghamton Senators, Ottawa's AHL affiliate. In 36 games with Binghamton, Brodeur went 13-13-2 with a 3.06 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage.

Brodeur was recalled to Ottawa on two occasions, posting a 3-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage. Following his first recall on Nov. 24, Brodeur made his NHL debut on Dec. 19, stopping 22 of 23 shots to earn his first career victory in Ottawa's 4-1 victory against the Minnesota Wild. He was called up again in January to replace the injured Pascal Leclaire and made 32 saves in the Senators' 2-0 victory against the Rangers in New York on Jan. 14 to start the club's 11-game winning streak. Brodeur then earned a 4-2 win against the Canadiens in Montreal on Jan. 16, making 30 saves.

Brodeur split the 2008-09 season between the AHL's Rochester Americans and ECHL's Augusta Lynx. In 38 games with Rochester, Brodeur went 18-13-4 with a 2.45 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. In eight games with the Lynx, he went 2-4-1 with a 3.02 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.

Brodeur was the Chicago Blackhawks' seventh-round selection (No. 211) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
