VANCOUVER -- All of Vancouver is looking for an explanation for what played out in Game 4 as the Chicago Blackhawks steamrolled the Canucks 7-4 -- and that includes Roberto Luongo.

The Canucks goaltender allowed six goals on 33 shots and has surrendered 11 goals over his last two outings, both forgettable home losses for Vancouver.

It’s been tough to figure out what has gone so wrong for the Canucks, who have given up 12 goals over two playoff games for the first time since the 2003 Western Conference Semifinals against the Minnesota Wild, but Luongo tried his best in the locker room after the game.

Q: Coming into the game you guys talked about being disciplined, but that wasn’t the case tonight. How do you explain that?

Luongo: There’s no explanation. We lost our composure again. I don’t know why it happened -- we talked about it, we were all on the same page before the game started and I don’t know, one thing led to another and we lost our composure again in the second period there.

Q: Is it a case of getting caught up in the emotion too much?

Luongo: I don’t know. There are emotions, no doubt, it’s playoffs, but at the end of the day we’re playing to win and everything we do on the ice we have to do for the benefit of the team.

Q: You guys have the experience, are you surprised at all about so many guys losing composure?

Luongo: I don’t know, I can’t really explain it, I don’t know what happened. We’re going to have a sit down and talk about it tomorrow and realize what went wrong and what we’ve got to do to fix it for next game.

Q: How disappointed are you that it turned into a special teams battle?

Luongo: There’s going to be penalties, it’s part of the game, and I don’t know how many exactly we took tonight, but they do have some skill up front and they’re going to make us pay every once and a while.

Q: Are you guys off your game?

Luongo: We want to play our game, that’s what made us successful, we all saw what it was in the first game. For some reason, I don’t know if it’s playing game after game, guys start to get under guys’ skin, but we all know what our game looks like when we’re playing it and right now I don’t know exactly what we’re doing.

Q: How tough was that start, down 1-0 18 seconds into the game?

Luongo: Yeah, it was a tough one. (Brent) Seabrook was all alone in the slot and he released a quick shot, I was trying to get down as soon as I could and I got a big chunk of it, I thought I had it but it snuck in there.

Q: How do you get back in this series?

Luongo: We’ve got to refocus. Obviously this series is not over -- maybe a lot of people think it’s over, but it’s been done before, the Canadiens came back against Washington; it’s not impossible, but to do that we need to have everybody on the same page and that’s the only way we’re going to get it done. We can’t look at the big picture; we just need right now one win in Chicago in two nights.
