Sharp plays sidekick with four-point night
While Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was tying franchise records, Patrick Sharp was having one of the more under-the-radar four-point nights in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
VANCOUVER -- While Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was tying franchise records, Patrick Sharp was having one of the more under-the-radar four-point nights in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Sharp had a goal and three assists, a night only worthy of Second Star status with Toews registering a hat trick and two assists. Sharp's four points were a career high in the playoffs and were a big factor in the Blackhawks' 7-4 win against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 4 of their Western Conference Semifinal series.

After the game, Sharp spoke with the media and had this to say:

Q: What's it like to have a four-point night in the playoffs and have such a small crowd around your locker?

Sharp: I guess when the other guy gets five, I’ll take it. It was just one of those games when the puck is going in. It was a fun night.

Q: Did Toews just take over the game tonight?

Sharp: He's been playing good all season long. It's just another night for Jonathan.

Q: What clicked with the power play tonight, which had four goals in the win?

Sharp: I think we got some opportunities on the power play and we took advantage of them. We got some big efforts from some guys in there tonight.

Q: Are you surprised at all by the amount of penalties the Canucks took in Game 3 and 4?

Sharp: I can't really speak for what they're doing. But on our side, we took advantage of some opportunities. I thought the power play had a heck of a night. But overall we played well in the third period and limited their chances.

Q: Do you think you're in their heads?

Sharp: I don't know if we're in their heads. That's not a question for me to answer. I just know we're playing the game hard and smart. It's far from over in this series.

Q: Your goal was a result of traffic in front of Roberto Luongo. Was it as easy as it looked?

Sharp: There was lots of bodies, blue and white guys in there. I got a lucky bounce. The puck squirted out to me in the slot and I was able to put it in.

Q: Dustin Byfuglien only had an assist tonight, but how important was he in the win?

Sharp: Buff's doing a great job. He's going to the dirty areas. Obviously they don’t like him there. It opens things up for somebody else.

Q: The Blackhawks closed out every series they won on the first try last year and against Nashville this year. What makes you guys such great closers?

Sharp: I don’t know. It's a big game, that's for sure. The next one's always the biggest. We'll enjoy this win tonight and fly back to Chicago with our biggest game of the season on Sunday.
