St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced Thursday that the club has relieved Rick Wamsley as coach of the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' AHL. No replacement was announced.

"I would like to thank Rick for his dedication and hard work for the St. Louis Blues and wish him and his family nothing but success in the future,” Davidson said in a statement.

Wamsley was named as Peoria's interim coach for Peoria on Jan. 2, 2010, when Rivermen coach Davis Payne was promoted to interim coach of the Blues.

Wamsley, a former NHL goaltender, joined the Blues as an assistant coach/goaltending coach on July 7, 2006.
