SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Mike Hoffman had two goals and two assists and the Saint John Sea Dogs got back into the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League championship series with a 6-4 win over the Moncton Wildcats on Tuesday.

Moncton still holds a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series with the Sea Dogs, who finished the QMJHL regular season with the best record. Game 4 is Friday in Moncton. The Wildcats had their post-season road winning streak stopped at six games, two shy of the league record set by the 2009 Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Michael Kirkpatrick had two goals and an assist for the Sea Dogs, while Danick Gauthier and Nicholas Petersen also scored.

Gabriel Bourque and Randy Cameron each scored twice for the Wildcats, who trailed 5-1 heading into the third period before closing the gap to 5-4 with 2:20 remaining.

Bourque extended his point streak to nine games.

Marco Cousineau made 36 saves for the Sea Dogs.

Nicola Riopel allowed four goals on 18 shots for Moncton before being replaced by Shane Owen, who stopped 11 of 12 shots in relief.
