2010 LG NHL Draft Drawing to be televised live.
Which way will the ping-pong balls bounce? Fans will get to find out live during the 2010 LG NHL Draft Lottery.

The show will be telecast live at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 13 (VERSUS, TSN, NHL.com).

The NHL Draft Lottery will set the draft order for the first 14 picks of the 2010 Entry Draft, to be held June 25-26 in Los Angeles.

The Edmonton Oilers, who will finish with the fewest points in the League, will have the best chance of winning the top pick. They have a 25.0-percent chance of winning the lottery outright, and a 48.2-percent chance of gaining the No. 1 pick -- rules state that no team can move up more than five spots, so if a team that finishes anywhere between 25th and 17th in the standings wins the lottery, the Oilers would automatically get the No. 1 pick. Also, no team can move down more than one slot.

The team with the fewest points in the League has won the lottery the last two years -- Tampa Bay in 2008, when they selected Steven Stamkos, and the New York Islanders in 2009, when they picked John Tavares.

The choices for whoever wins the lottery this year include Central Scouting's top two-rated players: Plymouth Whalers center Tyler Seguin and Windsor Spitfires left wing Taylor Hall.

There's also a rich crop of defensemen, including Erik Gudbranson of the Kingston Frontenacs, Windsor's Cam Fowler, the Moncton Wildcats' Brandon Gormley, Mark Pysyk of the Edmonton Oil Kings and Derek Forbort of the U.S. National Team Developmental Program.

The chances of each team winning the lottery:

30th place team - 25.0 percent
29th place team - 18.8 percent
28th place team - 14.2 percent
27th place team - 10.7 percent
26th place team - 8.1 percent
25th place team - 6.2 percent
24th place team - 4.7 percent
23rd place team - 3.6 percent
22nd place team - 2.7 percent
21st place team - 2.1 percent
20th place team - 1.5 percent
19th place team - 1.1 percent
18th place team - 0.8 percent
17th place team - 0.5 percent

The 2010 NHL Entry Draft will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The first round will take place on Friday, June 25 commencing at 7 p.m. ET and the subsequent rounds (two through seven) will begin at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 26.
