Hall's goal paces Windsor past Seguin, Plymouth
Windsor's Taylor Hall scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist to give the Spitfires a 2-0 lead on Tyler Seguin and the Plymouth Whalers.
Two games into their Ontario Hockey League semifinal playoff series, Windsor Spitfires left wing Taylor Hall is making a statement that he should be the first pick in the 2010 Entry Draft.
 
Hall had the go-ahead goal and an assist to give the Spitfires a 5-3 victory Saturday night against the Plymouth Whalers and center Tyler Seguin, and a 2-0 series lead.
 
The game was tied, 2-2, when Hall scored a power-play goal at 6:28 of the second period, and then he set up Dale Mitchell's goal early in the third that made it 4-2.
 
In two games, Hall has 3 goals and an assist, and is a plus-4. Seguin, meanwhile, is scoreless and a minus-5. He was a minus-2 in Game 2.
 
Hall leads the OHL in playoff scoring with 9 goals and is second with 14 points. His plus-10 rating also is first in the league in the postseason.
 
Hall and Seguin are in a competition not only for the OHL title, but also to see who will be the first pick at NHL's annual selection process, June 25-26 in Los Angeles. Hall was No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking in January, with Seguin second. They are expected to remain in the top two spots in the final ranking, and we'll know the order when the list is revealed April 7.
 
Game 3 of the best-of-seven OHL semifinal will be in Windsor on Monday, with Game 4 back in Plymouth on Wednesday.
