Coyotes-Hawks highlights Tuesday's schedule
With first place in the Western Conference on the line, the Chicago Blackhawks host the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night.
The NHL has an action-packed, 10-game schedule on Tuesday night, but none bigger than the one that will take place in Chicago.

With first place in the Western Conference on the line, the Chicago Blackhawks host the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. ET. The teams enter Tuesday's action with 97 points apiece, though the Blackhawks have two games in hand. Phoenix (46-22-5) has won nine games in a row and has pulled ahead of the San Jose Sharks for first place in the Pacific Division.

Tuesday's action gets under way with a trio of games at 7 p.m. ET. The New Jersey Devils will have a chance to pull even with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Atlantic Division as they face the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Prudential Center. In another important game, the Boston Bruins will look to increase their lead in the race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as they take on the Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena. Boston is just one point ahead of the No. 9 Thrashers, who have won four straight.

Also, the Florida Panthers head to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre. Toronto has won three in a row but remains in the Eastern Conference basement.

Two more games begin at 7:30 p.m. ET -- the Ottawa Senators face the Philadelphia Flyers at Scotiabank Place (RDS in Canada), while the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Carolina Hurricanes at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Thirty minutes later, the Nashville Predators aim for their seventh straight win as they host the Dallas Stars at Bridgestone Arena. Meanwhile, the reeling Sharks will be in Minnesota to face the Wild at Xcel Energy Center. That game can be seen on Versus in the U.S. and TSN2 in Canada.

The final two games of the night begin at 9 p.m. ET. The Calgary Flames look to pull within two points of a playoff spot as they host the Anaheim Ducks at Pengrowth Saddledome, while the Edmonton Oilers battle the Vancouver Canucks at Rexall Place.
