Modano undergoes appendectomy, out indefinitely
Stars' center Mike Modano underwent surgery for an appendectomy and will be out of action indefinitely
The Dallas Stars push for the playoffs got a bit more challenging Monday with the announcement veteran center Mike Modano underwent surgery for an appendectomy and will be out of action indefinitely. He is not expected to play in the Stars’ home game vs. San Jose on Tuesday evening.

Modano, 39, has appeared in 54 of Dallas' 68 games this season, scoring 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points with 20 penalty minutes.

The Stars began Monday with a 29-26-13 record, seven points behind Detroit for the final Western Conference playoff berth.
