Kings-Hawks highlights Wednesday's NHL schedule
Two of the most exciting teams in the League will collide as part of the NHL's five-game schedule on Wednesday night.
Two of the most exciting teams in the League will collide as part of the NHL's five-game schedule on Wednesday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks, who are in a dogfight for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, will battle the Los Angeles Kings at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. ET. Los Angeles (39-22-4) is very much alive in the race to have home-ice advantage in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs; the Kings are just one point behind the No. 4 Phoenix Coyotes. The Kings come to Chicago after a 6-0 win over Columbus on Monday, while the Hawks lost 5-4 to Detroit on Sunday.

Wednesday's action gets under way with a trio of games at 7 p.m. ET. The New Jersey Devils, losers of their last two, hope to get back on track as they host the New York Rangers at the Prudential Center. The Rangers lost 2-1 in overtime to Buffalo on Sunday.  Also, the Dallas Stars, 4-3 shootout winners in Washington on Monday, visit the Sabres at HSBC Arena.

In a game that can be seen on the NHL Network, the Capitals host the Carolina Hurricanes at the Verizon Center.

In the final game of the night, the Vancouver Canucks, who rallied for a 6-4 win at Colorado on Tuesday, finally end their 14-game road trip as they face the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena. That showdown can be seen on TSN in Canada.
