This weekend the NHL Network will span the hockey spectrum, showcasing the sport at all levels.
It starts Friday at 7 p.m. ET with the debut of the documentary, "The Battle of Comm. Ave.," which traces the roots of the hockey rivalry between Boston College and Boston University.
Following the 90-minute long film is an NCAA clash between Michigan Tech and North Dakota.
On Saturday, the NHL takes center stage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET with the Hockey Night in Canada pregame show, followed by a renewal of the Battle of Ontario as the Ottawa Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs. After the game will be the Hockey Night in Canada Postgame show, followed by NHL Network: On The Fly.
Sunday will see a hockey doubleheader featuring future stars from the American Hockey League and Canadian Hockey League.
At 4 p.m. ET, the AHL's Chicago Wolves host the Lake Erie Monsters. Chicago is the minor-league affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers, while Lake Erie is tied to the Colorado Avalanche.
At 7 p.m. ET, two of the top teams in the Western Hockey League collide when the Saskatoon Blades play the Calgary Hitmen. The Blades are led by 2009 Avalanche second-round draft pick Stefan Elliott. The Hitmen feature L.A. Kings prospect Brandon Kozun, who is third in the WHL with 94 points.
