It took a while, but finally there's an answer as to who scored the winning goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins in their 5-4 overtime win against the New York Rangers on Thursday.
The goal originally was credited to Jordan Staal, but after the game Staal told members of the Penguins' communications staff that he did not touch the puck and should not be credited with the goal. The club forwarded Staal's comments to the League. Upon further review, the goal now has been officially credited to Malkin.
