Caps-Hawks set for NBC's Game of the Week
Two of the NHL's top teams, the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks, will be showcased in NBC's Game of the Week on March 14 at the United Center in Chicago. Game time is 12:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. CT).

Alex Ovechkin captains a talented Washington Capitals team that went 13-2-0 in January and compiled a 14-game winning streak, tied for the third-longest in NHL history. Ovechkin leads the NHL with 89 points and a plus-43 rating.  He is tied for the NHL lead in goals with Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby with 42.

Chicago boasts young stars of its own in Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, who have led the Blackhawks to the top of the Central Division and second place in the Western Conference.

The potential preview of the Stanley Cup Final is the only time these two contenders will face each other this season.

It will be NBC's second visit to the United Center in as many weeks. The Hawks will host the Detroit Red Wings on March 7, also at 12:30 p.m. ET.
Quote of the Day

Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
