REGINA - Brendan Gallagher scored twice to help the Vancouver Giants to a 4-3 win over the Regina Pats in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Vancouver also had a multiple point night from Craig Cunningham, who had two assists, while Brett Lyon and Brett Breitkreuz also scored for the Giants (39-20-5).

Jordan Weal replied with two goals for Regina (26-31-7). Myles Bell also scored for the Pats.

After a slow start, the two clubs swapped a pair of goals in the last half of the first period.

Scoring for Regina were Bell with a point shot through a screen, and Weal who knocked in a rebound on the power play.

Gallagher, then Lyon replied for Vancouver with goals both knocked in off rebounds.

The game remained tied after two periods with both teams adding a goal each in the middle frame.

Regina's Weal scored just 46 seconds into the second period when he took a great between-the-legs chip pass from Jordan Eberle in the Pats end, skated down the right wing then roofed it behind goalie Derek Tendler. The goal marked Weal's 30th of the season.

Breitkreuz evened it up for Vancouver with a pretty top-corner wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle.

Gallagher notched his second of the night and the eventual game winner just over six minutes into the third.

Vancouver's Tendler made 35 saves for the win while Damien Ketlo turned away 43 in defeat for the Pats.
