Two of the more talented teams in the League face off against each other as part of the NHL's seven-game schedule on Thursday night.

The San Jose Sharks, who sit atop the Western Conference, will visit the defending Western Conference champion Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen in the U.S. on the NHL Network. Both teams are coming off losses – the Sharks were beaten 3-0 at Columbus on Wednesday, while Detroit lost 4-3 in a shootout at St. Louis on Tuesday.

Two of the NHL’s hottest teams face off in one of two games that get under way at 7 p.m. ET when the Washington Capitals take on the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place (TSN in Canada). The Caps had their 14-game winning streak ended in overtime at Montreal on Wednesday, while the Senators are 12-1-0 in their last 13 after Tuesday’s 3-2 home win over Calgary. Also at 7, Carolina Hurricanes host Buffalo, which is trying to end a five-game losing streak after dropping a 3-2 shootout to Boston on Tuesday.

In another game that begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Vancouver Canucks continue their historic 14-game road trip as they face the Florida Panthers at the BankAtlantic Center. The Canucks are 2-3-0 on their trip after a 3-1 loss at Tampa Bay on Tuesday, the same night Florida lost 4-1 at Carolina.

At 9:30 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames try to rebound from the loss at Ottawa when they host the Dallas Stars at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Dallas lost 4-3 in a shootout at Chicago on Tuesday. One hour later, the Los Angeles Kings host the Edmonton Oilers at the Staples Center. Both teams are coming off losses at Anaheim – the Kings lost 4-2 on Monday, ending their franchise-record nine-game winning streak, while the Oilers lost 3-2 on Wednesday.
