In front of a nationally-televised audience, the Detroit Red Wings will battle the St. Louis Blues as part of the NHL's seven-game schedule on Tuesday night.
The Central Division rivals will face each other on Versus and TSN at 8 p.m. ET from the Scottrade Center, where the Blues are just 9-16-5 this season. Detroit (27-21-10) is expected to have Johan Franzen in the lineup for the first time since the power forward suffered a torn ACL on Oct. 8.
Three games get under way at 7 p.m. ET. The Boston Bruins, who ended a 10-game losing streak on Sunday, return to the ice to face the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena. The New York Islanders, losers of seven straight, host the Nashville Predators at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Also, the Carolina Hurricanes return home after a four-game road trip to host the Florida Panthers at the RBC Center.
Two more games have a 7:30 p.m. ET start time -- the Ottawa Senators host the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Place, while the Tampa Bay Lightning face the Vancouver Canucks at the St. Pete Times Forum.
In the final game of the night, the Chicago Blackhawks, who lead the Central Division by 15 points, host the Dallas Stars at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. ET. Dallas (26-21-11) trails Nashville by three points for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
