Anaheim Ducks right wing Teemu Selanne underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair two fractured bones in his jaw.

The team said the surgery was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Pulver at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, Calif. The Ducks placed Selanne on injured reserve and say he's expected to miss 2-6 weeks.

Selanne was injured in the third period of Wednesday's 4-3 win over Boston at the Honda Center when a shot from the point by Ryan Whitney hit a stick, bounced off the ice and hit him in the jaw. He fell to the ice immediately and had to be helped to the locker room.
Selanne was playing just his third game after missing 17 with a broken bone in his hand.

Selanne has 16 goals and 23 points in 30 games this season, and has scored 595 regular-season goals and 1,235 points in 1,162 games.
