A rematch of Saturday's showdown between the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators tops what promises to be an exciting, six-game NHL schedule on Sunday.
After dropping a 4-1 decision on home ice Saturday, the Preds will be seeking revenge when the teams meet again at the United Center at 7 p.m. ET. With Saturday's win, the Blackhawks (25-9-3) increased their lead in the Central Division to six points.
Sunday's action starts at 5 p.m. ET when the Philadelphia Flyers, who blew a 3-0 lead before earning a 4-3 shootout win in Carolina on Saturday, have a quick turnaround as they'll take on the New York Islanders at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Isles also played and won on Saturday, as Kyle Okposo scored in overtime to lift the club to a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Also at 5, the Boston Bruins battle the Florida Panthers at the BankAtlantic Center.
At 6 p.m. ET, the St. Louis Blues play their first home game since Dec. 18 as they'll host the Buffalo Sabres at the Scottrade Center. The Blues nearly went undefeated on a four-game road trip as their quest to go 4-0 ended on Saturday in a 4-3 loss at Minnesota.
One hour later, the Pittsburgh Penguins play their first game since the holiday break as they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at Mellon Arena. Pittsburgh (26-11-1) remains tied with the New Jersey Devils atop the Atlantic Division thanks to the Devils' 4-1 loss at Washington on Saturday night. Toronto lost 3-2 in overtime to Montreal at home on Saturday night.
In the final game of the night, the Vancouver Canucks take on the Calgary Flames at the Pengrowth Saddledome in a Northwest Division showdown at 8 p.m. ET. Calgary (20-11-5) has won just three of its last 10 games. The Canucks are playing their first road game after an eight-game homestand.
