Flames-Avs highlights Sunday schedule

First place in the Northwest Division will be on the line in the NHL on Sunday as part of its two-game schedule.

At 8 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche -- who are tied for first in the Northwest -- will battle it out at the Pepsi Center. The Flames have picked up points in eight of their last 10 games (6-2-2), while Colorado (18-10-6) is coming off a 2-1 shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday. Sunday marks the third of a five-game homestand for the Avs.

The Lightning are also in action on Sunday, as they'll visit the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center at 7 p.m. ET. Chicago sits atop the Central Division with 41 points, while the Lightning (11-11-9) are two points behind of the Montreal Canadiens for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
