Joel Champagne had the best night of any player in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season on Friday.
Champagne scored four goals and had three assists as the P.E.I. Rocket blasted the Halifax Mooseheads 8-5. Selected in the fifth round of the 2008 draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Champagne's offensive production has been solid all season, scoring 15 goals and a total of 34 points. Friday's output was the best by any player in the QMJHL this season.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Moncton 3 Gatineau 2; Victoriaville 3 Val-d'Or 2; Rouyn-Noranda 7 Chicoutimi 6 (OT); Baie-Comeau 2 Shawinigan 0; and Montreal 2 Rimouski 1 (SO).
At Charlottetown, Samson Mahbod scored twice and added four assists for P.E.I. (17-10-3), while Benjamin Casavant, and Jarrad Struthers also tallied.
Charles Bety scored twice to lead Halifax (6-23-2), while Travis Randell, Alex Lemieux, and Brent Andrews also had goals.

At Moncton, N.B., Simon Jodoin had a power-play goal and an assist as the Wildcats edged Gatineau.
Daniel Pettersson and Alex Saulnier also scored for Montcon (16-10-3).
Alexandre Quesnel and Mitchell Porowski had goals for the Olympiques (15-12-3).

At Victoriaville, Que., Tomas Kubalik had the eventual game-winner as the Tigres edged Val-d'Or.

At Chicoutimi, Que., Dmitry Kostromitin scored twice including in overtime to lead Rouyn-Noranda past the Sagueneens.
Gabriel Levesque had a goal and two helpers for the Huskies (19-12-3), while Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Nicolas Deslauriers, Christophe Losier, and Jean-Sebastien Berube also scored.
Jacob Lagace had a hat trick for Chicoutimi (11-11-7), while Nicolas Deschamps scored twice and Steve Lebel also tallied.
