PORTLAND, Ore. - Hampus Gustafsson and Tomas Hricina each scored twice as the Regina Pats downed the Portland Winterhawks 6-3 in WHL action Tuesday.
With the Pats (14-11-3) clinging to a one-goal lead, Gustafsson's second of the game at 11:29 of the third period gave Regina a 5-3 advantage. Hricina rounded out the scoring 1:37 later. Matt Strueby and Garrett Mitchell added singles for the Pats, while Damien Ketlo stopped 22 shots to preserve the victory.
Nino Niederreiter scored all three goals for the Winterhawks (16-11-0), giving the Switzerland native 13 on the season. Ian Curtis made 31 saves in defeat.
