The night before Thanksgiving is always a busy one around the NHL, and this year is no exception. The schedule lists 14 games, with everyone but the Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets slated to see action.

The action starts with four games facing off at 7 p.m. ET.

The Philadelphia Flyers come back East after four games out West for their first meeting of the season with the New York Islanders. The Flyers come to the Nassau Coliseum after losses at San Jose, Phoenix and Colorado. The Isles return after a seven-game road trip that ended on a winning note when Josh Bailey's OT goal and Dwayne Roloson's 58-save performance gave New York a 4-3 win at Toronto on Monday. The Flyers won all six meetings last season.

New Jersey also comes home, albeit after a three-game trip, to host the Ottawa Senators. New Jersey's 9-0-0 start on the road included a 3-2 win over the Senators in their first meeting, but the Devils went 0-2-1 on last week's trip. Ottawa is playing on the road for just the fifth time in 22 games.

Toronto heads to the Sunshine State for a meeting with Tampa Bay (TSN). The Lightning are 5-0-0-4, one of two teams that haven't lost in regulation, and are coming off a 4-3 OT win at Atlanta on Sunday.

In the other 7 p.m. game, Buffalo visits Washington in a battle of two teams coming off losses at Ottawa. The Sabres were beaten 5-3 at Scotiabank Place on Saturday, while the Caps lost 4-3 in OT on Monday.

Three more games face off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Montreal Canadiens pay their last visit ever to Mellon Arena when they play the Pittsburgh Penguins (RDS). The Habs, who beat Columbus 5-3 at home on Monday night, hope for a better result than their last visit -- a 6-1 victory by the Penguins on Oct. 28 in a game that saw Sidney Crosby get the hat trick. The Penguins come home after wins at Atlanta and Florida.

Like many New Yorkers, the Ranger will head to Florida for the holiday. Their first stop: BankAtlantic Center, where they face the Panthers in a rematch of last Saturday's 3-2 loss at Madison Square Garden.

The Atlanta Thrashers will try to double their victory total at Joe Louis Arena when they visit the Detroit Red Wings. The Thrashers are 1-4-1 all-time at The Joe and have dropped their last thee overall. The Wings have lost just once in regulation in Detroit.

Versus will be on hand at 8 p.m. ET when the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars face off at the American Airlines Center. St. Louis lost 4-2 to Boston on Monday while the Stars were blanking the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0.

Also at 8, the Bruins will try for their fourth win in a row when they visit Minnesota. The teams haven’t seen each other in more than a year -- since the Wild's 4-3 OT win on the first weekend of the 2008-09 season.

Nashville, one of the NHL's hottest teams, brings a six-game winning streak to the Pepsi Center for a meeting with the Colorado Avalanche (9 p.m. ET). The Predators completed a sweep of their five-game homestand with a 3-1 win over Detroit on Monday night -- a game that ended about an hour before Colorado's 5-4 home win over Philadelphia.

Both Alberta teams are home for games that start at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Phoenix Coyotes, who lost 4-0 at Edmonton on Monday, visit Calgary. The Flames lost 3-2 in a shootout at Anaheim on Monday. The Oilers, coming off their win over the Coyotes, host Los Angeles -- a team that has struggled since former Oiler Ryan Smyth went down with an upper-body injury.

Carolina starts a road trip with a visit to Anaheim (10 p.m. ET). The Hurricanes are digging out after their 14-game losing streak, while the Ducks are still 14th in the West despite winning two of their last three -- including the shootout win over Calgary two nights ago.

The last game of the night may be the best one: At 10:30 p.m. ET, Chicago takes its eight-game winning streak to San Jose, where the Sharks are 7-0-2. The Hawks are on the second week of their "Circus Trip" -- they finished the first week with a three-game sweep of Western Canada by winning 1-0 at Vancouver on Sunday. The Sharks lead the overall standings with 36 points and come off weekend wins over the Flyers and Ducks.
