Senators goalie Pascal Leclaire to miss a month with broken cheekbone

OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators starting goaltender Pascal Leclaire will be sidelined about a month with a broken cheekbone.

He suffered the injury while sitting on the bench during Monday's game against Washington.

A dump-in attempt by Senators centre Mike Fisher struck a stick and sailed into the Ottawa bench, rebounding off the glass and off the right side of Leclaire's face.

Leclaire was serving as backup to Brian Elliott because he'd suffered a slight injury to his lower body in a 5-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

Leclaire says he's disappointed about his bad luck but that it's something he'll laugh about in 20 years.
