Maxime Clermont knows how to earn career benchmarks with style.
Clermont made 16 saves as the Gatineau Olympiques blanked the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-0 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
It was the 18-year-old's 100th game in the QMJHL and his 50th win. The shutout was the fifth of his career.
Clermont is in his third season with the Olympiques, and has been the club's starting goaltender since joining the team.
The win snapped Gatineau's three-game losing streak.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Cape Breton 3 Moncton 2; P.E.I. 6 Chicoutimi 5; Victoriaville 6 Halifax 1; Quebec 5 Montreal 2; and Saint John 7 Lewiston 4.
At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Vincent Barnard scored twice for Gatineau (15-9-1), while Nicolas Boyer also tallied.
Mickael Audette stopped 23 shots for the Huskies (15-12-3).

Screaming Eagles 3 Wildcats 2
At Moncton, N.B., Ashton Bernard had the eventual winner as Cape Breton edged the Wildcats.
Nick MacNeil and Stephen Horyl also scored for the Screaming Eagles (15-8-5).
Marek Hrivik scored twice in the third period for Moncton (13-7-3).

Rocket 6 Sagueneens 5 (OT)
At Charlottetown, Matthew Hobbs scored in overtime as the Rocket outlasted Chicoutimi.
Adam Polasek tied it up for P.E.I. (13-9-3), while Ben Duffy, Jarrad Struthers, Brandon Street, and Joel Champagne also tallied.
Antoine Roussel scored twice for the Sagueneens (11-9-6), while Nicolas Therrien, Jacob Lagace, and Nicolas Deschamps also found the back of the net.

Tigres 6 Mooseheads 1
At Victoriaville, Que., Brandon Hynes's hat trick led the Tigres as they mauled Halifax.
Yanni Gourde, Philip-Michael Devos, and Joel Chouinard all had singles for Victoriaville (19-7-1).
Travis Randell was the lone scorer for the Mooseheads (5-20-2).

At Quebec City, David Gilbert's goal would stand as the winner for the Remparts as they defeated Montreal.
Kelsey Tessier scored on a penalty shot for Quebec (17-5-5), while Samuel Groulx, Maxime Gravel, and Dmitri Kugryshev also had markers.
Pier-Antoine Dion scored both goals for Montreal (12-14-1).

Sea Dogs 7 Maineiacs 4
At Lewiston, Maine, Nicholas Petersen had a hat trick and added an assist as Saint John beat the Maineiacs.
Stanislav Galiev, Steven Anthony, Mike Hoffman, and Michael Kirkpatrick tallied for the Sea Dogs (23-4-1),who won their 15th straight game.
Michael Chaput opened scoring for Lewiston (10-13-1), while Matt Boyle and Etienne Brodeur also had goals.
