LEDUC, Alta. - Meghan Agosta had two goals and an assist and Canada's national women's hockey team rode a big third period to a 7-5 win over the Leduc Oil Kings of the Alberta Midget Hockey League on Friday.

Hayley Wickenheiser and Caroline Ouellette also scored in the third to break open a 4-4 tie. Canada improved its record to 8-3 in the midget series, featuring teams made up of male players aged 15-17. The midget teams have agreed not to bodycheck against the Canadians, as that constitutes a penalty in women's hockey.

The games against the women's national team count in the AMHL standings for the midget teams.

Jayna Hefford, Jennifer Botterill and Delaney Collins also scored for Canada.

James Dobni scored twice for Leduc, which also had goals from Luc Recknagle, Ryley Bennefield and Austin Wilson.

Charline Labonte and Kim St-Pierre combined for 29 saves for Canada.

Jordon Cooke and Kyle Hynes combined for 28 stops for Leduc.

Canada continues the NWT Midget Series with two games in Calgary next week.
