VANCOUVER, B.C. - Henrik Sedin snapped a third-period tie as the Vancouver Canucks overcame a two-goal deficit Friday to beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2.

Sedin scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season and sixth in six NHL games as he deposited Alex Burrows' centring pass behind prone Avalanche goalie Craig Anderson. The goal opened the floodgates for the Canucks who scored five in a row, including four in a wild third period.

Vancouver's Christian Ehrhoff tied the game 2-2 early in the period with his second goal of the game. He also hit the post late in the third period.

Steve Bernier with a power-play goal, and Mikael Samuelsson, with his ninth of the season, capped the Vancouver rally.

The Canucks scored their third straight win over Colorado which coughed up a two-goal lead for the second time in two games.

Vancouver, which hadn't played since beating Colorado 8-2 in Denver on Saturday, improved to 12-10 and moved to within five points of the Northwest Division leaders.

The Avalanche, who had a sparkling 10-1-2 start to the season, lost for the fifth time in six games and slipped to 13-7-3.

David Jones and Matt Duchesne scored on the power-play early in the first period but Vancouver wasted little time halving the margin on their first man advantage.

With Steve Bernier screening, Ehrhoff blew a point blast behind Anderson 16 seconds after David Koci went off for cross-checking.

The Canucks tied it early in the second period when Mason Raymond dug the puck out from behind the net to find Ehrhoff who had jumped into the play.

Vancouver came close twice before Sedin gave them the lead.

Alex Burrows whacked at a loose puck that just dribbled past the goal line and Kyle Wellwod's high shot hit Anderson's arm.

John-Michael Liles, back after missing five games with a shoulder injury, and Wotjek Wolski figured in both early goals as the opportunistic Avs led 2-0 on four shots.

Jones tipped Liles' point shot behind goalie Roberto Luongo for his eighth goal of the season and third in six games at 4:06 of the opening period.

On the next man advantage, Luongo made the initial pad save on Wolski's shot but Liles jumped into the play to poke at the rebound before the rookie Duchesne tapped it into the net.
