Darren Archibald scores OT winner as Colts win 10th straight, 3-2 over Battalion

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Barrie Colts are serving notice that they are once again among the Ontario Hockey League's elite.

Darren Archibald's power-play goal 1:20 into overtime lifted Barrie to a 3-2 victory over the Brampton Battalion in an OHL Central Division battle Friday night.

The Colts, who have now won 10 straight, scored all their goals with the man advantage.

A pair from Luke Pither, his 17th and 18th of the season at 11:18 and 16:44 of the first, gave the Colts a 2-0 advantage after one.

The Battalion pulled to within one at 4:14 of the second period when rookie Nathan Lane beat Barrie netminder Dalton McGrath.

The 2-1 score held until the 5:53 mark of the third when Brampton's Ian Watters tied the game.

The Battalion found themselves in penalty trouble near the end of regulation when Matt Clark was called for delay of game with just nine seconds left, setting up Barrie's power play in overtime.

McGrath turned aside 21 shots to pick up the win.
