Report: Forsberg staying in Europe

According to a report on Sportsnet.ca, Peter Forsberg will remain in Europe this season.

The report says Forsberg told Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis that he will remain in Sweden this season.

Gillis confirmed the news after speaking with Forsberg Monday morning. On Feb. 25, 2008, Forsberg signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche for the remainder of the season, but played in just nine games due to a groin injury.

Forsberg will play the remainder of the season in Sweden with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League.
