Atlanta Thrashers have signed forward
Rich Peverley to a multiple-year contract extension.
Peverley, 27, has scored 4 goals and 3 assists in five games with the Thrashers this season. The center was claimed by Atlanta off waivers from Nashville on Jan. 10, 2009, has tallied 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) in 44 games with the Thrashers, including seven game-winning goals.
Originally signed by Nashville as a free agent on Jan. 17, 2007, he has recorded 62 points (24 goals, 39 assists) in 117 career NHL games with Atlanta and Nashville. He has also appeared in six playoff games for the Predators, earning two assists.
