Sabres agree to terms with Cody McCormick

Saturday, 08.01.2009 / 7:03 PM / 2009 NHL Offseason News
Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent center Cody McCormick on a one-year contract.

McCormick collected 12 points (1+11) and 92 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games last season with the Colorado Avalanche. A native of London, Ontario, the 26-year-old McCormick has appeared in 190 NHL games, collecting 30 points (9+21) and 250 penalty minutes with Colorado.

McCormick was selected by Colorado in the Fifth Round (144th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
