Lehtonen, 25, posted a 19-22-3 record with three shutouts, a 3.06 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 46 games last season for the Thrashers. He led team goaltenders in games played, wins, shutouts and save percentage and tied a team-record with a five-game win streak from March 6-16, amassing a 1.18 goals-against average, a .966 save percentage and two shutouts during that span.
The 6-4, 205-pound goaltender has recorded a 94-83-17 record with 14 shutouts, a 2.87 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 204 career games with the Thrashers. He is the all-time franchise leader among goaltenders in games played, wins, shutouts, and save percentage and ranks second in franchise history in goals-against average. Lehtonen has earned a 0-2-0 record and a .849 save percentage with a 5.59 goals-against average in two Stanley Cup Playoff contests.
During the 2006-07 season, the Helsinki, Finland, native set single-season and career-highs in games played (68), starts (66), wins (34), shutouts (four), shots (2,075) and saves (1,892). He represented the Thrashers in the 2007 NHL YoungStars Game during the NHL All-Star Weekend in Dallas on Jan. 23-24. Lehtonen established the franchise record for save percentage (.916) the following season.
