The Ducks announced today they have signed center Erik Christensen to a one-year contract extension. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
Christensen, 25 (12/17/83), split the 2008-09 season with Anaheim and Atlanta, combining for 7-21=28 points with 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 64 games. Christensen also appeared in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Ducks, collecting 0-2=2 points. A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Christensen was acquired from the Thrashers in exchange for center Eric O’Dell on Mar. 4, 2009. At the time of his acquisition, Christensen ranked second among Atlanta team leaders in faceoff percentage (54.6%; 233-for-427) and third in faceoffs won.
