Ducks' Wisniewski '50-50' for Game 5

Ill Getzlaf also a game-time decision

Sunday, 05.10.2009 / 10:28 AM / Conference Semifinals: Detroit vs. Anaheim
Following his first practice with the team since suffering a lung contusion in Game 3, Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski said it is “50-50″ whether he will be in the lineup for Sunday’s Game 5 against the Red Wings in Detroit.

Wisniewski took a puck to the chest in the second period of Anaheim's 2-1 victory in Game 3 last Tuesday night and was rushed to UCI Medical Center while suffering from shortness of breath. He was held out of Game 4, a 6-3 Ducks defeat to the Red Wings.

Following a practice at Allen Park Civic Arena that he described as "real good," Wisniewski was scheduled to meet with Ducks team physician Dr. Craig Milhouse later in the day.

“He’s going to check me out, and see how everything feels,” Wisniewski said. "The big test is when I’m on the ice and when I get my heart rate up a little bit higher, to see how I’m feeling. I really want to push to play.”

Getzlaf Update

Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf did not practice Saturday after continuing to feel the effects of flu-like symptoms that limited his time on ice in Game 4.

Getzlaf said he began feeling noticeably ill during the second period of that game, but planned to be in the lineup for Game 5.

“We’ll obviously see how it goes today, as things keep progressing," Getzlaf said.
