Vancouver Canucks wing Pavol Demitra will be scratched from Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinal against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault admitted that Demitra would be a "game-time decision" during his media availability on Tuesday afternoon.
Taylor Pyatt will make his first appearance in these Stanley Cup Playoffs in Demitra's absence and will likely play on the third line with Steve Bernier and Kyle Wellwood. Mason Raymond would then move up to the second line with Ryan Kesler and Mats Sundin. Vancouver's top line, of course, consists of Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and Alex Burrows.
According to reports, Demitra may have suffered an injury during the course of Game 2 in Vancouver. He was hit hard into the boards during a play by Blackhawks' defenseman Brian Campbell and although he finished the game, he was favoring his shoulder. Center Ryan Johnson Ryan Johnson is in the lineup.
On defense for the Canucks and as reported on Monday afternoon, Ossi Vaananen will be filling in for the injured Sami Salo, who is out with a lower-body injury.
