DETROIT -– The Detroit Red Wings will be going with the same lineup in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena.
That means Brian Rafalski, who is still suffering from what the team is calling an upper-body injury, won't dress as Detroit aims to take a 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven series.
"We saw him this morning, and he was in good spirits," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said of his No. 2 defenseman. "He seems fine, (but) he’s not going to play."
With Rafalski out, Nicklas Lidstrom will again be paired with rookie Jonathan Ericsson, who did an admirable job in Game 1. Ericsson received 18:49 of ice time and dropped the gloves with Anaheim’s Corey Perry early in the second period.
