CALGARY -- Mike Keenan has just said Dion Phaneuf will not play tonight in Game 6, adding that he is day-to-day.
Anders Eriksson, who spent the 2008-09 regular season in AHL Quad Cities, and played 22:44 in Game 1 of this series, is expected to draw in.
Phaneuf left Game 5 in Chicago on Saturday night after a helmet-on-helmet collision with Chicago's Troy Brouwer in the third period. Phaneuf did not return, and did not take the morning skate here today.
That's a really tough thing to play through; when you finally are thrown out there, the game is fast, intense, every single play matters, you've got to find a way to play through that and make smart plays. So it's a huge testament to [Vermette] and some other individuals in our locker room that are putting their own ego, their own wants and needs aside, and are ready for those opportunities when they do come.
