Washington at New York - Game 3
Trailing the series 2-0 and desperately needing a road win, the Capitals got off to a great start in Game 3; part of that start included a little bit of luck.
With nine minutes left in the first period and the Caps leading 1-0, Ryan Callahan just missed pulling the Rangers even. Callahan received a pass down low and appeared to have an open net, but Nicklas Backstrom tipped his shot ever so slightly to redirect the puck from going in. Instead the puck hit the post and led to an immediate Capitals breakout.
About 20 seconds later, Backstrom knocked down Callahan in the Rangers' defensive zone and moved the puck to Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin then made a brilliant pass to Alexander Semin, who one-timed his second goal of the game past Henrik Lundqvist to give the Caps a crucial two-goal lead. What could have been a 1-1 game at the time turned into a 4-0 victory for the Capitals in Game 3.

The game was tied late in second period and the hometown Montreal crowd was still energized from the latest Habs' goal.
Then Bruins right wing and former Canadien Michael Ryder collected a rebound and shot a wrister past Carey Price to send Boston to the dressing room with a crucial lead over Montreal. The Bruins returned from intermission and didn't look back, silencing the Habs' crowd and leaping to a 3-0 lead in the series.

Holding a 2-1 lead after two periods of play in Game 3 at the Pengrowth Saddledome, the Flames needed to make sure they got a win in their first home game of the series.
About one minute into the third period, Daymond Langkow carried the puck across the Chicago blue line and collided with Matt Walker. The puck took an awkward bounce and found its way onto Adam Pardy's stick. Pardy cruised down the left side of the ice untouched and snapped a shot on goal that was stopped by Nikolai Khabibulin. But the "Bulin Wall" was unable to contain the rebound and David Moss banged home his second goal of the playoffs to give the Flames a crucial 3-1 lead just 1:18 into the third.
The Flames rolled from that point on and won Game 3, 4-2.
